Remaking part of a Silicone Mold

A customer of ours makes molded silicone toys. The existing 'lid' they had was made of a 2 part plastic resin. They were having a couple of problems with it. The stem on it was weak and was breaking during the de-molding process, and they were having trouble getting it centered in the mold.
Follow up:
The customer needed the new lid as soon as possible to keep their production going. We fabricated the new part from aluminum. We also provided a locator and steel dowels to have the new lid centered on the existing mold. Below are some pictures of the old part with the new one.
