Our Production Process

When we’re approached by a new customer, they’re often surprised at the level of service we provide beyond just manufacturing.  Most are pleased when they realize we can save them money by eliminating unnecessary steps.  Below is a flow chart showing a typical production process for us.

Our Production Process

Definitions and Notes:

Your Idea
When you come to us with your idea, it can be anything from detailed CAD drawings, to sketches on a napkin.  We’ll work with you to create the appropriate documentation needed for production.  Often times we can eliminate steps saving you money.

Consultation
The consultation can be a face to face meeting or over the phone, the purpose of the consultation is to get enough information needed to put together a proposal.

Manufacturing Process
If you’re not sure how your product should be made, we can help determine the best method.  Should your metal parts be stamped? Cast? Forged?  Should your plastic parts be Fabricated? Thermoformed?  Machined?

Bill of Materials
The bill of materials is a detailed list of materials required to manufacture your product.  The list can be simple and short, or quite long.  This step is necessary for us to determine the price of your product.

Proposal
Depending on the scope of work, our proposals can vary in size and detail.  They will include a detailed list of what we will make, with pricing and delivery options.

Design Assistance
Often times we help customers design (or redesign) their products to allow for certain manufacturing methods (saving them money also).

Manufacturing Documentation
If 2D drawings are required, they will be created and submitted for approval by the customer.  Manufacturing Documentation also includes product specifications, safety data sheets etc.

Changes Made During Production
It is very common for our customers to change or add things during production.  We remain flexible and prepared for this to happen.  Our customers should never feel like they can’t make changes once production begins.
Once production ends, we will deliver or ship the product(s) to the customer, according to the terms of the proposal.  Even though the bulk of our work is custom, we will work to meet your deadlines no matter how pressing they may be.
